Privacy

Crewgether is built to need as little information as possible.

What stays on your device

Your display name, icon, settings, game history and fun statistics are stored in your browser on your own device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What is sent to the server

When you create or join a room, the name and icon you chose for that game, your moves and any drawings or answers you submit are stored on the server so the other players can see them. Rooms are deleted automatically seven days after the last move, and the host can delete a room earlier.

Accounts and ads

There are no accounts and no advertising. We never sell or share your data.

Anonymous usage statistics

To see which games people enjoy, Crewgether records anonymous events on its own server: that a visit happened, which pages and games were opened, roughly how long the page was open, and basic technical details such as your browser, device type, screen width, language and time zone. Events are linked to a random identifier stored in your browser, not to your name, and no third-party analytics or advertising services are used. This is on by default and a short notice explains it the first time you visit. You can turn it off at any time in your profile under Settings, and nothing further is recorded.

Weekly ranking

If you earn XP, your name, icon, level, streak and weekly XP appear on a public weekly ranking, which resets each week. You can switch this off in your profile at any time, which removes you from the ranking straight away.

History on your device

The list of games you played is kept on your device for 30 days and then removed automatically. Your level, streak and stats stay on your device.

Feedback

If you send feedback, we store your message, star rating and the optional contact detail you add, so that we can read it and reply. Please do not include sensitive information in a feedback message.

Camera, motion and vibration

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a joining QR code, and the image is processed on your device. Motion sensors are used only for tilt controls in Charades, and vibration only for game feedback. You can turn vibration off in your profile.
